I am raised in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and always been interested in photography all my life, but always as a hobby then and still now. Having the time to go back to my basic interests now, so i can expend my photo hobby. Capturing life around me with my camera. Landscapes, on the street, traveling or just at home. In the 1980’s photographing in black and white, developing the films myself and printing the photo’s in the dark room. Nowadays with digital photo files developing on the computer. A never ending journey and always enough to discover.
I love to shoot with my digital Leica camera’s where you have to adjust everything yourself, iso, shutter speed, diaphragm, depth of field etc. . It slows you down and one get’s reworded when making a nice photo. You know you have to work for it and that it is me who takes the photo and not the “computer-camera”.
Personally, making black&white photo’s is giving me the most satisfaction. It is different and not mainstream. It is timeless.
I am inspired by street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Matt Stuart and Thorsten van Overgaard. Landscape photography by Ansel Adams.
